Introducing the Worldschooling Central Kids’ Community
Are your kids looking for ways to connect with other Worldschooling children around the world?
Our kids, Brody & Sienna, have always told us that they wish there was an easier way to keep in touch with their friends. As we travel the world, they’ve made wonderful friends, but when we say our goodbyes, they struggle to maintain their friendships.
So… I challenged them to find a solution!
They put their thinking caps on and came up with a plan. Knowing that they are not alone in this issue, they decided to not only find a solution for themselves but for the wider Worldschooling Central community – a place where traveling kids can come together and keep in touch with friends around the globe.
After weeks of creation, building, and testing, the kids have come up with not one, but TWO solutions, and are ready to share their project with you all. And as a parent, I’m super proud of their efforts and I’m pleased to announce that we now have a Worldschooling Central Kid’s Community!

We have created a Kid’s Community using the Discord platfrom. For those of you that haven’t heard of Discord, or do not fully understand what it is, Discord is essentially a modern-day forum. It was initially designed for the video gaming community but has evolved into a platform that is super popular with kids and teens and allows them to communicate within a chat channel.
Our Kid’s Community has been designed to allow children to connect with other kids all over the world and includes numerous #chat threads including general chit chat, country-specific and interest-based chats, with more options being added as kids let us know what they need. As it grows it will be an incredible place for kids to connect with each other and a simple way for us as parents to foster the relationships they’ve created during their adventures.
The Kid’s Community is only for Worldschooling kids and we have created a simple application process to help us closely monitor and approve who has access. It is a hub made for kids by kids, however a number of key elements have been included to help maintain a friendly, supportive and inclusive environment. The server will be regularly monitored, however as always, parental supervision is recommended.
For those of you with younger kids – it does require reading and writing ability, however we are discovering that it can be a wonderful tool to help engage and motivate younger children to quickly improve their skills, so they can get involved!
To join our Kid’s Community, you simply need to fill out our quick application form. After submitting it, you will be provided a link that you can use to access our server – if your kids don’t already have a Discord account, they can easily create one. Once the application has been reviewed your child will be given full access to the community.
